- This might be too little too late...

- TD/RD speeds are usually gleaned from one of your modem's ati command
- variants. i.e. USR uses ati6 which reports the data for the last or
- current call. Not all modems offer the information, but I'd start looking
- there and then read the darn manual front-to-back.
